What is Watchlist? What can it do for you?

Watchlist is Kavout's smart watchlist center. You can create multiple watchlist groups to track stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, and more — with real-time prices, AI signals, technical indicators, and instant access to important events through in-app notifications and daily email alerts.

Core Capabilities

Note: Free users get basic watchlist features (price, YTD return, etc.). Pro members unlock full AI scores, technical indicators, email alerts, and premium notification categories.

Quick Start: 3 Steps for Beginners

Access

• URL: https://www.kavout.com/watchlist
• Your watchlists sync automatically after logging in

Step 1: Create Your First Watchlist

1. Click the + Create Watchlist button in the top right
2. Enter a list name (up to 50 characters) and optional description
3. Click Create to finish

A Main watchlist is created by default — it can't be deleted, but it can be renamed (the "Main" label remains).

Step 2: Add Symbols

In the Overview tab's "Add Symbol" search box:

• Enter a ticker symbol or company name
• Click to add from the dropdown results
• Supports stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, and more

Step 3: Turn On Daily Email Alerts

1. Click the Email alert button in the top right
2. Toggle on the Daily alert switch
3. Verify your email (enter email → receive code → confirm)
4. Choose delivery time and timezone
5. Select which content sections you want in the email

Emails are sent every business day at your chosen time, covering symbols across all your watchlists.

1. Top Header Bar

Left side:

• Watchlist title + watchlist count badge
• Daily alert status bar (desktop): Shows whether alerts are on and the delivery time — click to open the settings drawer
• Mobile: Button on the right side of the title row, with a full-width status bar below

Right side:

• Email alert button (desktop): Opens the email alert settings drawer

Click the star-icon dropdown button to open your watchlist menu:

• Shows all watchlists with name, description, and symbol count per row
• Main label marks the primary watchlist
• Click to switch the currently viewed watchlist

On mobile, watchlist names are truncated (max 10 characters). View the full name in the dropdown list.

Overview Tab

The default view, showing core data for each symbol. Full desktop columns:

How to read Kai Score?

Click the Kai Score badge to open a detail panel. Pro members can also see Smart Signals for the corresponding timeframe.

What is Stock Rank? Stock Rank is an AI-generated ranking based on fundamentals (quality, value, growth, momentum factors), updated daily. Displayed as a badge (e.g. "Top 10%", "Above Average") — higher is better.

Free users see Kai Score as 🔒 lock icons, and Stock Rank as partially locked. Upgrade to Pro to unlock full values and Smart Signals details.

Technical Tab

⚠️ Pro exclusive. Free users see an upgrade prompt when clicking.

The technical view shows various technical analysis data, with switchable timeframes:

Included technical indicators:

• MA 5 / MA 10 / MA 20 / MA 50 — 5/10/20/50-period moving averages
• RSI(14) — Relative Strength Index
• ADX(14) — Average Directional Index (trend strength)

4. Adding Symbols

On the right side of the Overview tab is the Add Symbol search box:

• Search by ticker (e.g. AAPL)
• Search by name (e.g. Apple)
• Real-time dropdown suggestions showing symbol, name, country flag, and exchange
• Click the "Add" button to add the symbol
• Duplicate symbols are not re-added
• Each list supports up to 100 symbols

⚠️ International (non-US) symbols require Pro. Free users trying to add non-US stocks see an upgrade prompt.

Daily Email Alerts

Feature Overview

Daily email alerts are Watchlist's core value-added feature. Every business day, at your chosen time, the system compiles important events for symbols in your watchlists and sends them in a single email.

How to Enable

1. Click the Email alert button at the top of the page — the settings drawer slides in from the right
2. Click Turn on daily alert to toggle the switch on
3. First-time users need to verify their email:
   • Enter your email address → click Send code
   • Check your inbox (from alert@kavout.co)
   • Enter the 6-digit verification code → auto-confirmed
4. Choose delivery time and timezone
5. Select the content sections you want included

💡 Tip: Add alert@kavout.co to your email contacts to prevent it from going to spam.

Delivery Times

6 preset time slots (12-hour format):

• 7:00 AM / 8:00 AM / 9:00 AM
• 12:00 PM
• 5:00 PM / 9:00 PM

Timezone Selection

Supports major global timezones, with auto-detect from your browser:

Email Content Sections (6 Categories)

You can customize which sections appear in the email. All are enabled by default:

Email Preview

After enabling email alerts, a blue banner appears above the table:

• Shows when the next email will be sent
• Click Preview email → to preview the email style inline
• Click Hide preview to collapse again

Auto-Save

All setting changes auto-save (with roughly 0.5s delay) — no manual save button needed. Changes to delivery time, timezone, and content sections take effect immediately.

Modifying or Turning Off Alerts

• Change email: Click Change next to your email in the settings drawer, then enter and verify a new email
• Turn off alerts: Toggle the switch at the top. Your configuration is saved and takes effect again when you turn it back on
• Toggle sections: Switch individual sections on/off anytime in the "Include in alert" area

In-App Notifications

The Notifications section at the bottom of the page provides real-time event alerts for all symbols in your watchlists — no need to wait for the daily email.

Notification Categories (7 types)

Free users can only view the "All" category with key details locked. Pro members unlock full notification content and all category filters.

Each notification includes:

• Stock ticker (click to open stock detail popup)
• Notification type label
• Event description (supports HTML links to related tickers)
• AI Research quick access

Display Quantity

• Shows the first 20 notifications by default (cumulative across groups)
• When there are many notifications, each group in time view shows the total count for that group
• Scroll to load more

Watchlist Management

Creating a List

• Click + Create Watchlist
• Enter a name (required, max 50 chars) and description (optional)
• Names are case-insensitive and must not duplicate existing lists
• Up to 50 lists can be created

Renaming a List

• Click the Edit button
• Modify the name or description and save
• The Main list can also be renamed (the "Main" label remains)

Deleting a List

• Click the 🗑️ delete button (not shown for the Main list)
• Confirm to delete — data cannot be recovered
• After deletion, automatically switches to the Main list (or the first available list)

Switching Lists

• Click the watchlist selector dropdown button at the top
• Click the list you want to view

About the Main List

• Each user has exactly one Main watchlist
• The Main list cannot be deleted
• Automatically created on first use
• The Main list can be renamed (but the "Main" label remains)

General Usage Notes

Table Operations

• Sorting: Click column headers to toggle ascending/descending sort
• Click a symbol: Opens the stock detail popup for more information
• Delete a symbol: Click the trash icon in the Action column
• Dark mode: Follows system theme — auto-switches between light and dark

Mobile Adaptation

• Fewer columns on mobile — use the dropdown selector to switch which data column to view
• Overview optional columns: Price / YTD Return / Market Cap / Outlook / Stock Rank
• Technical optional columns: MA 5 / MA 10 / MA 20 / MA 50 / RSI(14) / ADX(14)
• Switching data columns clears the current sort

AI Research

The AI Research button on the right side of each row provides quick access to AI-powered research tools — run various AI analyses directly on that symbol.

Top Alert Bell

The 🔔 bell icon in the top navigation bar provides a notification preview:

• Green dot indicates new notifications
• Click to open a dropdown panel showing the last 15 notifications (grouped by time)
• Click "See All Notifications →" to jump to the full notifications section on the Watchlist page

At the bottom of the page, two quick entry points to discover more symbols worth watching:

• Popular Stocks — curated thematic stock collections (36 categories)
• Top ETFs — categorized ETF rankings (20 categories)

FAQ

How do I create a watchlist and add symbols?

Click the + Create Watchlist button, name your list (add a description if you want), then use "Add Symbol" to search for and add the stocks, ETFs, or crypto you want to track.

How many watchlists can I have? How many symbols per list?

You can create up to 50 watchlists, each with up to 100 symbols.

What's the difference between Stock Rank and Outlook (Kai Score)?

• Outlook (Kai Score): AI-driven Kai Score rating that predicts potential excess returns by analyzing multi-dimensional indicators. Updated daily, reflecting the latest technical and financial data.
• Stock Rank: AI-generated ranking based on fundamentals (quality, value, growth, momentum factors). Updated daily with the latest market data.

In short: Kai Score is more technical/momentum-oriented, Stock Rank is more fundamental/value-oriented.

When are email alerts sent?

Every business day (Monday through Friday) at your chosen time, calculated based on your selected timezone. Not sent on weekends or holidays.

Why am I not receiving the verification email?

• Check your spam/junk/promotions folders
• Add alert@kavout.co to your email contacts or whitelist
• Make sure you entered the correct email address
• Click "Resend code" to try again

How often is the data updated?

• Price data: real-time
• Kai Score / Stock Rank: daily
• Technical indicators: updated after each timeframe's close
• Notification data: pushed in real-time as events occur
• Daily email: scheduled delivery on business days

Can I add non-US stocks?

Yes. Watchlist supports major global markets: US, Hong Kong, European, Australian, Southeast Asian, and more. But adding non-US symbols requires Pro — free users can only add US stocks, ETFs, and crypto.
